Three poems after a breakup.

A circuit
between us
miracle
Milagro
Mila
flowing
without thought
in the open spaces
may we both feel that again, love,
in the space
between
may love
fall again.

2

I didn’t know how to grieve
but I walk
into the centre
and back out.
I don’t know how
to breathe
but my belly expands.
I don’t know how
to go forward,
but I feel the ship of my life,
untethered, leave your port.
The seas are stormy, but kind.

3

Love
is not
wholeness
all the time
It is a dance
between
self and
beloved
and at last recognizing
they are one and the same.
